Chinese parks are quite a different sort ofexperience, other than being a place for people to try and sell off their sonsand daughters for marriage to other families, it's the only place people arereally able to go out and practice their kung fu, dancing, singing, musicalinstruments etc. Of course there are the regular activities such as having apicnic, hiking and playing sports (as well as some boating and fishing)available as well. Come and join Sasha and I as we get the low down on howChinese parks work. The primary goal of attending the marriage market is forparents to find a suitable partner for their child. The standards of findingthe right match may be based upon (but not limited to) age, height, job, income, education, family values, Chinese zodiac sign, and personality. All ofthis information is written on a piece of paper, which is then hung upon longstrings among other parents' advertisements for their children. The parentswalk around chatting with other parents to see if there is a harmonious fitonly after their children's standards are met.

Umbrellas used for advertising. Many parentsdo not have permission from their child to go to this event. It has beendescribed as "match.com meets farmers' market" with a low successrate. In many parents' eyes, parent matchmaking gatherings such as the MarriageMarket are the only way to uphold a traditional dating style for their childrenin modern China. China's long idealized tradition of continuing their familylineage is very important within Chinese culture. As the children of the OneChild Policy start to become of typical marriage age, the so-called marriage"market" of China has wavered in stability, particularly for males inChina. The University of Kent predicts that by the year 2020, 24 million menwill be unmarried and unable to find a wife. Recently, well-educated women in Chinawith established careers are in less of a hurry to get married. They have moreoptions than women in past generations and are not afraid to put their careerfirst. This change in marriage ideology puts the women in a higher position ofpower within a traditionally male-dominated society. Now more women seek tofind a responsible man with personal integrity instead of just a high payingjob.

Many men's standards have changed with theprogression of women's status in the work industry as well, they expect a womanthat has been educated and well on her way to a career path. But what hasdrastically changed is the older generations viewpoint on the subject—theyagree with the younger generation, with the two most important qualities in awife being "elegance and a decent career path," quite a change from"diligence and the willingness to suffer the burden of life".

China is really beautiful in many ways, very strange though, at least it is to me. I'd love to go on vacation for like a month there and see as many historicalartifacts and natural wonders China has in store, don't think I could ever livethere though.

He never harmed China by his videos. Theywere all truthful portrayal of China, both good and bad. Maybe he is right inthinking that there are overly sensitive Chinese persons who want to hearpraises only, and who sometimes even mistakes a compliment as a criticism. Whata pity!

I wouldn't say it's selling wives, becausethere are no monetary transactions. It's more like a dating service organisedby overly concerned older generations. I wasn't aware that they were doing itwithout the consent of the single men and women involved, but that totallysounds like something Chinese grandparents would do. Lol~

I think wife park is a good idea. I wouldhave liked it if my mom had interviewed the mother of the girl I was going todate and make sure she is from a good family. Obviously China has many incomelevels so parents don't want their son or daughter to marry into a family ofhard up, money hungry scammers.

BULLSHIT! they are not selling wives ortheir sons or daughters, it is match making for their children, in China specially HANs they only allow tohave one child, they love their only child and hoping they should get marriagewhen they supposed to when they come to the right age. And if the son ordaughter still not seeing anyone, the parent will try to get involve and here youhave the parents in the park posing their son or daughter bio, its a match making like your friends finderonline. Besides its free and genuinerather then many match making agency(they cost you a lot and there are manyscam agency too)

Clickbait, no one is selling their wives, but by using deception, this Western con man profits by using unsuspectingChinese girls to make him money and spread lies about Chinese society. Great work, South African.
