If you've ever been in a relationship, you know that when love hits your system it can cause you to act differently and, in many cases, downright silly. Dopamine is one type of neurotransmitter that is widely utilized across different areas of the brain. It is associated with a feeling of pleasure, motivation, and reward, as well as regulating movement. Activities that trigger a rush of dopamine cause the brain to assign importance to them and to pursue more of the same.
Romantic love is essentially elevated activity of the reward hormone dopamine in the brain. The same thing happens when you take cocaine or heroin. Post-breakup, your brain can enter a state of acute wanting that can make it difficult to focus on anything else.
“恋爱脑”作为一个网络用语，已经稳定存在于年轻人聊天高频词汇表多年。若观察自身周围，似乎也能找到许多“上头”男女。一旦陷入热恋，他们便开启“失智模式”；而一旦分手，又会陷入沮丧和绝望之中。在恋爱中，我们会大量分泌多巴胺，让一些原本的常识判断变得模糊，理智出走。这为恋爱中的“智力下降”提供了解释。
