中山大学“贫困生炫富”事件结果出炉 The Results of the "Poor Students Show off Their Wealth"
A student receiving financial aid to attend Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong province had his subsidies suspended after being found flaunting his wealth and consuming excessively. On Tuesday, the student financial aid management center with the university initiated an investigation into the student, surnamed Zhao, who had claimed his family had financial difficulties.
According to a recent online post on the university's bulletin board service, Zhao used Apple products including an iPhone, MacBook, iPad and Apple Watch. Moreover, he purchased a ticket for a music concert, worth 1,517 yuan ($210).
“助学金”本意是帮助家庭贫困的学生解生活燃眉之急，然而，多地频频曝出“贫困生炫富”、“助学金名额被顶替"等事件，引起网友讨论。此前，有网友在中山大学贴吧发帖称，该校中法核工程与技术学院（以下简称中法核）一名获助学金的特困学生用的是苹果系列四件套（一般指苹果品牌的手机、电脑、平板和手表四款产品），而且还买了价值1517元的王嘉尔演唱会门票。
