Chinese National Tourism Administration will pilot a freelance tour guide program in Shanghai and eight other provinces beginning from May, in an attempt to reduce the number of shopping trips, which tourists frequently complain about.
Freelance tour guides are required to sell their services via online platforms and/or offline agencies and collect service fees through a third-party payment platform. They are also banned from offering services other than tour guiding and will be punished for hard selling goods and services or recommending illegal accommodation, boarding options or shopping spots to tourists.
游客出游可网购导游服务了！日前，国家旅游局下发通知，定于今年5月正式启动导游自由执业试点工作。这意味着今后导游可通过网络平台向消费者提供向导服务，且导游兜售物品或被吊证。有业内人士分析，导游自由执业之后，“购物团”有望减少。
