Over the past few days, some activists in North China's Hebei and East China's Anhui provinces have protested in front of KFC fast food outlets calling for US businesses to be boycotted.
It is understandable for some Chinese to use the internet to express their indignation at the arbitration tribunal's unreasonable and absurd award against China in the South China Sea dispute case initiated by the Philippines. But the recent protests have interfered with the business of these restaurants, and the protesters have humiliated and harassed customers, claiming they are not being patriotic.
南海仲裁“闹剧”告一段落。然而近日有人以“爱国”为名在部分城市发起了“抵制肯德基”活动，引发网友及媒体热议。我国的“爱国主义抵制”由来已久，可是，为什么总会有民众发起各种抵制？有专家分析称，有些人用自己的抵制行为来满足自身的“爱国”需求，并为将“爱国”付诸行动感到自豪。
