中国超越英国成为全球第二大留学目标国 China to overtake UK as a study abroad destination
China will challenge the UK's position as second in the world for international study by 2020, according to a latest report. It said a record breaking 397,635 international students went to China in 2015 and China has been the third most popular destination for overseas students ahead of Canada, Germany and France.
The Independent noted that the trend is thought to be partly due to a drive by the Chinese government, as well as increasingly higher education standards and scholarship programs for degree-seeking students.
据英国媒体近期报道，最新数据表明，选择到中国留学的英国学生人数在过去一年迅速增加。专家预测，未来几年内中国可能超越英国，成为海外学生留学的首选国之一。专家们认为，中国政府作出的努力、中国教育水平的不断提高以及为攻读学位的学生提供的奖学金项目，是造成这种趋势的部分原因。
