Spring outing to LiuHua Lake Park

It’s a fine spring in warm weather, would you like to stay at home or join us entertaining outside? Still thinking about what? We’re preparing a lot of games and activities for the last Sunday of this month ( 26th March),  let’s meet in the LiuHua Lake Park, spare ourselves, have a picnic, get more fresh air and green view, go boating if you like, and also have team games which will probably be your first time.

Who we are

GEC stands for Guangdong English Community, but we are more than that, because we hold all kinds of activites including English, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean etc. The basic idea of this organisation is to get people communicate, and also let new friends get more comfortable with this beautify city, those who come from other provinces or countries, by organising Language Corners, sharings, visiting enchanting scenery and historic sites… we are good at it.

Who we want

All language-lovers who are kind to others. Here you can meet different people from each area, who are all quite friendly to each other. Probably you want to know more about this city and Cantonese? You won’t miss out this good opportunity !

About the Park

LiuHua Lake Park, known as the "Greenery Bar of Guangzhou", Liuhua Lake Park has always been a hot spot frequented by the residents of Guangzhou. Every March, the mucuna birdwoodianas burst into full bloom in the southern scenic area of the park and in the Farming Garden. Strolling along the Chinese redbuds path that runs through the Farming Garden and the West Garden, you can feel the rich romantic flavor of spring, making the Chinese redbuds path an ideal place for going on an outing and/or taking photos. ※ Location: No. 100, Liuhua Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. ※ Transportation: - Metro: take metro Line 2 and get off at the Yuexiu Park Station.

Fee for the acticity

Totally free of charge to join this activity, if some of you want to eat together or have snacks, you may be asked to share the bill inside your team, it’s all on your own.

Main activities

Spring outing : walking and chatting in the park, boating or sharing snacks and food. Everyone is in a smaller team which may be probably 12 person, that way it can get each team member closer. Team leader is designated beforehand to arrange this kind of things and let everyone know the route on that day.

Games: Find the Killer through getting the clues. you gotta pass the competition to get clue, like tongue twisters (in either Mandarine, Cantonese, English); making sentence by given words avoiding all traps; Cantonese culture quiz; guessing the original word by their awesome descriptions; The more clues you get, the higher possibility you win !

Main agenda of that day

10:00AM ~ 10:30AM : gathering and knowing each other outside the Park at Northeast door. Remember to contact your team leader and find your team. You will be aware of it in advance and there will be a we-chat group for your team only.

10:30AM ~ 11:00AM : Ice-breaking and game rules telling blah blah

11:00AM ~ 14: 30PM : Walking boating Chatting Snacking whatever you like

14:30PM ~ 15:00 PM : Team Game Getting Ready

15:00PM ~ 17:30 PM : Team Game Time

17:30 PM ~ later : Whatever you like, go home or have a meal together
