What comes into your mind when purchasing agents (daigou) or cross-border online shopping (haitao) are mentioned? For mothers, these words may bring to mind imported milk powder and other child care products; for young adults, they possibly remind you of the limited edition or overseas-only sports shoes or fashion items.
But few of us have ever noticed whether the purchasing agents' behaviors are legal or not. Last month, a shopkeeper faced a sentence of ten years behind bars and was fined 5.5 million yuan for being illegal purchasing agents (daigou).
代购这个词现在每个人都不陌生，即使你不会上网买代购的商品，你的通讯软件里也多多少少有那么几个人做着这个事情。很多人做代购，一开始只是自己有一个外出的机会，然后顺带帮身边朋友带一些他们需要的东西。但是他们很快就在其中看到巨大的利润……
