Renowned Taiwan author Chiung Yao has passed away at 86 in an apparent suicide, as confirmed by Taiwan media.Taiwan's TVBS News and CTV News reported that emergency responders found Chiung Yao unresponsive at her residence around 1:22 pm local time.
Chiung Yao was a prolific writer whose works, including Huan Zhu Ge Ge (My Fair Princess) and Yi Lian You Meng (Fantasies Behind the Pearly Curtain), were adapted into popular films and television series that captivated audiences across the Chinese-speaking world. Many young actresses and actors rose to fame overnight after appearing in these adaptations.
据台湾TVBS新闻网报道，知名作家琼瑶今（4日）下午1时22分许，在新北市淡水区住家内离世，终年86岁。琼瑶本名陈喆，是台湾知名的作家，以言情小说闻名。她的多部小说作品如《还珠格格》《一帘幽梦》等，被改编为脍炙人口的电影或电视剧，在华人世界享有盛名。
