China lifted its more than three-decade-old family planning policy, according to a statement issued by the Communist Party of China Central Committee, under which roughly 90 million couples will become eligible to have a second child. An estimate based on the prediction that each child brings an average of 30,000 yuan expense each year.
The statement said the China's aging trend would be actively addressed by the national two-child policy, and that it would continue to stick to the family planning policy as a basic State interest.
十八届五中全会决定实施“全面两孩”政策,这是继2013年决定实施“单独两孩”政策后,中国人口与生育政策的又一次历史性调整。估计会有9000万对夫妇会生育第二个孩子，从而缓解中国社会老龄化的问题。
