In US, on average marriages that end up with divorce last eight years and between 40 and 50 percent of marriages end up with divorce or separation. A couple that lasted for 50 years is quite special.
Carolyn and Kelly Gay exchanged their vows on March 12, 1971 at DSM First Church in Des Moines, lowa. It has been 50 years and the couple is still happily together. Kelly doesn't think that they are that special: "We got through a lot, but I don't know if we've gone through anything more than other couples go through. I don't think we're anything special. We just found a way to get over the hard parts and enjoy the other parts."
在美国，以离婚告终的婚姻平均持续8年，40%至50%的婚姻以离婚或分居告终。而一对美国夫妻能相守50年，是极其特别的事。在BoredPanda网站上有一组照片令很多网友直呼“被塞了一大口狗粮”。照片中的两位老人已经携手走过50年的婚姻。他们再次穿上当年的婚服，还原当时的场景，用特殊的方式纪念金婚纪念日。
